VAPORIZER GUIDE

Vaporizers have developed quickly over the last several years, and their quality has improved dramatically. Many units now come with 3-5 year warranties, and others carry lifetime warranties. Some things to look out for when choosing one are the power source; some run on batteries, many others need to be plugged into the wall in order to function. The power source has a big impact on how portable they are. Another thing to look out for is digital or analog temperature control. Digital can sometimes be a bit more complicated to program/set, but tend to be quite a bit more accurate in regulating the vaporization temperature. One last thing to keep in mind is price. Unlike many other items in our world, the quality and functionality of a vaporizer is pretty closely matched with how much you spend on it. The higher priced vapes tend to last longer and have more reliable/sturdy working parts. The main exception to this rule is the Magic Flight Launch Box. (hence it’s overwhelming popularity!)

MAGIC FLIGHT LAUNCH BOX

The Magic Flight vaporizer is easily the simplest, most reliable vaporizer unit we’ve tried yet. It contains no moving parts. It operates using conductive energy supplied by a single rechargeable AA battery. All it takes to use is to grind a small amount of product in a handheld grinder, and fill the trench under the clear window. Take the AA battery, and insert it into the side opening and push it in until it stops. Then inhale slowly from the mouthpiece.

That’s all there is to it. The slower you inhale, the hotter the chamber gets, so you can use breath control to regulate the amount of heat in the unit.

VAPIR AIR ONE V5.0

The Vapir AIR ONE vaporizer was the first handheld digital vaporizer we began carrying. We’ve stocked these vaporizers for over four years, and they are really reliable. It is a corded unit, so it does need to be plugged into the wall, or a power inverter if you are traveling. It’s fan driven, meaning that once temperature is set and the herb capsule is inserted into the tray, all you do is switch on the fan, and the vaporizer fills a bag with vapor that can be saved for an hour or more. The bag is detachable, so you can leave the vaporizer where it’s plugged in, and carry the bag around with you. This unit works using the same principle as the $500 Volcano vaporizer for just a fraction of the price.

VAPIR NO2

The Vapir NO2 is the little brother of the Vapir AIR ONE V5.0. This unit doesn’t have a fan, which is the main difference. You just inhale through it like a straw. The temperature is digitally controlled just the same way as the Vapir AIR ONE. The other main difference between the NO2 and their larger model is the power source. This NO2 unit runs on a rechargable battery that lasts through a couple sessions before needing recharging.

IOLITE VAPORIZER

Released in 2008, the Iolite vaporizer is manufactured in Ireland by Oglesby & Butler, Ltd., a company that has specialized in piezoelectric heating devices for decades. This unit is completely self contained and portable. It self ignites, and runs on a butane charge similar to a rechargeable lighter. It has an internal temperature regulator that keeps the unit at optimal temperature. They are our second best seller at time of this writing (9/20/2011).

GOTVAPE AROMA CLASSIC

There are a TON of wooden box style vaporizers on the market. Many are made in China or India. This means that whatever company that manufactured it waaaaay over there probably had no clue what it was being manufactured for, nor did they most likey even care. These box vapes from Got Vape are manufactured to strict specifications for safety of materials. The heating element is not metal, but an inert mineral crystal material that does not emit plastic vapors or metal byproducts that cheaper import vaporizers have problems with. Ultimately, you’re trying to be healthier than smoking, and the last thing you want is to be sucking fumes from heated parts that may or may not have something scary in them.
